Group CSV rows, count what’s there, and sum or average a numeric column. A focused utility that runs entirely in this browser tab.
01 / Bring your table
Start with a CSV
Read on this device. Nothing is uploaded. UTF-8 CSV · 1 MiB · 10,000 rows · 100 columns.
Comma-separated fields. Quoted commas, escaped quotes and quoted line breaks are supported.
02 / Ask a simple question
Build your summary
Each column keeps its position, even when headings repeat. Group text is preserved exactly; blank groups are included.
Exports use JSON rather than spreadsheet CSV, keeping formula-like text as inert strings.

Predictable CSV reading
The parser follows RFC 4180 quoting rules, with support for LF or CR line endings and a UTF-8 byte-order mark. Uneven row widths and malformed quotes produce an error instead of a guessed table. The first record is always the heading row.
Know what counts
Row counts include every parsed data record. For sum and average, empty or whitespace-only cells and invalid numbers are excluded and counted separately. Use signed plain decimals with up to 100 digits and 18 fractional places. Exponents, currency symbols and separators are invalid.
Sums are exact. Averages display up to 12 decimal places, rounding halfway away from zero; ≈ marks a rounded result. JSON includes the exact average numerator and denominator. Groups with no numeric cells show no result.
A tab, not a destination
The File API reads only the file you choose. Input lives in this tab’s memory; it is neither sent nor saved. Reset clears the interface, and reloading starts fresh. Hosting may log ordinary page requests, never utility input.
Optional measurement is off by default. On this site's exact production address, Google Analytics can count fixed actions only after you explicitly allow it for this page visit and its collector is ready. This site uses its own verified measurement destination. It counts fixed successful manual actions, with no automatic pageviews, enhanced measurement or advertising features. Bundled example actions are excluded.
Your CSV text, headings, group values, file names, numeric cell values, summary results and query strings are not included in application event payloads. Google may process technical identifiers and connection information after opt-in; measurement is not anonymous. DNT and Global Privacy Control keep it off. Consent is not stored, and actions before consent or readiness are never replayed.
Turning measurement off removes its helper frame and this site's measurement cookies. It stops future optional counts but does not delete data already received by Google. The local utilities and downloads work without measurement. Export events describe a download request, not confirmed saved files, unique people or customer demand.
